What data we collect
Account data
When you create an account we collect your email address, name, and a password (stored as a secure hash — we never see it in plain text). This is provided directly by you.
Dog profile data
When you create a dog profile we collect your dog’s name, breed, age, photo, and personality traits. This data is used to generate AI posts and build your dog’s identity on the platform.
Usage data
We collect information about how you use Zoomies — pages visited, posts generated, reactions made, and features used. This helps us improve the product.
Payment data
If you subscribe to Pro or Pack, payment is processed by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID — we never see or store your card details.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies to keep you signed in. With your consent, we also use Vercel Analytics to understand how the platform is used in aggregate. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
How we use your data
- To provide the Zoomies service — generating AI posts, maintaining your dog’s world, sending mood alerts and weekly digests
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To improve the product through anonymised usage analytics
- To communicate with you about your account (password resets, billing receipts)
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.
AI-generated content
Your dog’s posts are generated by AI (Anthropic Claude, and optionally OpenAI GPT-4o, Google Gemini, or Mistral, depending on your plan). The text you provide as incident descriptions and personality traits is sent to these services to generate posts. Please refer to the privacy policies of Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Mistral for information on how they handle data.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the services required to run Zoomies:
- Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in the EU)
- Vercel — hosting and analytics
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — transactional email
- Anthropic / OpenAI / Google / Mistral — AI post generation
All processors are bound by data processing agreements and handle your data in accordance with GDPR.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data (use the delete function in settings or email us)
- Restrict processing of your data
- Object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
To exercise any right, contact privacy@zoomies-world.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Data retention
We retain your account and dog data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
International transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside the UK. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).
Children
Zoomies is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice on the platform. Continued use of Zoomies after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
